About PortRush

Hello, my name is Sandra Frisbey and I am presently out of debt.  I owe no man except to love him!  But it hasn't always been that way.  When I was young, I thought I was doing pretty good with handling money.  I had brought a home when I was in my twenties, I went on vacations regularly, I had a nice savings account and I owned a new car.  Then came children and all of this changed.  I needed a bigger house, I had to pay for childcare and private school and I needed a new car.  I found myself with loads of debt.  About this time I also found Jesus.  I decided to give him control over my life and that meant my finances.  This wasn't that easy of a thing to do for me.  I was used to handling things myself and I thought I did a pretty job of it, circumstances were just making things difficult.  I figured Jesus would fix the circumstances and everything would be alright.  But he didn't want my circumstance, he wanted control.  And so, the struggle began.  While I struggled with Jesus, my circumstances seemed to get worst.  Everything seemed to be breaking in the house.  The chimney needed fixing that was $7000.00; the sewer line busted that was another $3000.00 and the heater, hot water and electric box all decided to break at the same time.  My ship had sailed but as you can imagine I ended up shipwrecked many times.  GOD's grace would rescue me, just as HE promised in his Word.  It took me long time to figure out that Jesus came so that I might have life and to have it abundantly.  That meant he came to be captain of my ship, not to take orders from me.  Now, I have submitted and I live a good life.  You can have a good life too.  This blog was created to help you maneuver through some of the financial storms you face as you give control of your ship over to Jesus.

You might have wondered why I named the blog PortRush.  Well there is a real Portrush Lifeboat Station in Northern Island ran by RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute).  This is a charitable institution established and maintained through donations and volunteers.  Everyday volunteers put their lives in danger to save others.  Jesus stated that there is no greater friend than a friend that would give up his life for another.  Paul the apostle stated that he was happy to pour his life out as a drink offering for others.  The members of this station are also happy to lay there lives down (expose our lives to scrutiny) to help others.  Portrush means "promontory port"; that is a port that sits elevated enough to see a fellow traveler who might be in trouble at sea.
